Carrie DeLong Parrish
Carrie DeLong Parrish is a well-versed communications professional with extensive experience in marketing, fundraising, and storytelling in the nonprofit and state government sectors.
Early in her career, Parrish served the Idaho legislature as a performance evaluator. She attributes her top-notch writing chops and editor’s eye to years spent in a government office basement transforming research, data, and complex ideas into clear, actionable messages.
Her interest in building marketing departments from the ground up led her to positions with the Oregon Patient Safety Commission, Lines for Life, and the Returning Veterans Project. In these positions, she focused on strategic planning, streamlining communications, and moving traditional marketing into the digital age.
Parrish specializes in helping health and human service organizations find, gather, and share the human stories behind their work. She’s passionate about infusing athentic, human experiences into marketing that builds lasting connections and moves audiences to actions.
Parrish holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and Sociology from Augustana University and a Master of Health Sciences from Boise State University. After residing in exotic locations including Boise, Sioux Falls, Minneapolis, and Berkeley, Parrish currently lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, two children, and a cat that thinks she’s a dog.
