Amber Shoebridge

Amber Shoebridge is an experienced strategic communicator with deep media roots in the Pacific Northwest. In fact, you could say, it runs in her blood. The daughter of a long-time television, print and radio journalist, Amber followed in her father’s footsteps – even working at his former station, KOIN-TV in Portland. From there, she spent a number of years working in broadcast journalism in Oregon, California and New Mexico as both an assignment editor and award-winning news producer.

As a former member of the media and someone who has an extensive background in media relations, she has a deep knowledge of print, broadcast, and digital media, and how to maintain a constant and positive presence across all outlets.  Shoebridge has a proven track record of serving as a point of contact for media inquiries, an ability to work efficiently under multiple and competing deadlines, and coaching subject matter experts to ensure an effective story is told well.

Amber’s award-winning experience on the public relations front touches many different aspects of the profession.  She spent 10 years working with executives at Legacy Health to develop proactive and reactive communication plans, and mastered reputation management issues – both internally and externally. She is also a FEMA-trained public information officer and has played an integral role in multiple crisis situations.

Amber has earned several PRSA Portland Spotlight awards on topics ranging from the first artificial cornea transplant in the state to rebuilding a young woman’s face years after suffering from a gunshot wound. She also spent two years working with attorneys on improving trial communications and building multi-media presentations used in mediations, witness questioning and closing arguments.

Shoebridge has served as a board member for Bradley Angle, which supports survivors of domestic violence, and The Children’s Book Bank, which provides free books to children to help encourage a life-long love of reading. Her past volunteer service also includes participation with Start Making a Reader Today (SMART) and the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Shoebridge holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Oregon. She lives in Monterey, California with her husband and their English bulldog who embraces the British stereotype of having a stiff upper lip.
